Infinite Fountain - Rotating Mutual Aid - Allo Research Quest

A low-friction mutual-aid game that rotates help, rewards reciprocity, unlocks collective breakthroughs, and accelerates Ethereum research.

-–

## 10 minutes. 10 collaborators. A stronger Allo Research Quest.

Spend 10 minutes helping a fellow researcher.

The researcher selects the best idea and that idea instantly wins $20 USDC (directly to their wallet).

Then we rotate the spotlight to the next researcher. Rotating needs → shared momentum.

Only 10 participants; 10% chance of winning.

If there are too many good ideas, the researcher (or the ARQ council) can send extra tips to the winner and/or runner-ups.

And even if you don’t win, Ethereum and Allo Research Quest wins.

## We’ll become coordination champions:

In research, the obstacles aren’t just technical—they’re social. It’s hard to ask for help, harder to synthesize across silos, and easiest of all to quietly stall. That’s coordination failure in slow motion.

We are creating a small contest to turn siloed insights into shared momentum. We are going to unblock small breakthroughs that will accelerate our research and ripple across the Ethereum and Allo ecosystems.

- Tiny unblocks are a public good.

- Rotation builds reciprocity and builds momentum.

-–

## How It Works:

Everything will be done inside the Infinite Fountain app.

We will post a challenge 2 times per week for 1 month.

Each challenge is an opportunity to help a fellow researcher.

We’ll constantly rotate researchers so we get to help everybody.

Up to 10 people claim a slot and spend 10 minutes to submit.

Prize per challenge: $20 USDC.

The researcher selects the winner; ARQ Council resolves ties.

Submissions are anonymous until reveal; one entry per person.

Instant payout to winner’s wallet.

Researcher and ARQ Council can send a “tip” (e.g., $1–$5) to the winner or to runner-ups.

And even if you don’t win… Ethereum and Allo Research Quest wins.

### Points & Retroactive Rewards

We want to reward helpful contributions throughout the month.

Each challenge, aside from giving the instant prize, the researcher will allocate points to all the collaborators.

At month-end, the Retroactive Rewards Pool is distributed proportional to their points.

-–

## Dates & Budget

Program length: 1 month (starting September 1st)

Cohort: 10 trusted collaborators; rotating researcher needs

Cadence: 2 challenges per week, $20 USD per challenge → 1 month = $160 USDC in instant prizes

Budget: 260 USDC total = 160 USDC instant prizes + 100 USDC Retroactive Rewards Pool

The $260 USDC have already been allocated into the ARQ InfiniteFountain smart contract:

## Outcomes & Deliverables

I will create a 5-minute public recap video of the experiment. I want the Allo-Capital members to learn from our experiment, and will also use this video to crowdfund and ask for support towards the retroactive rewards pool.

But overall, what we will win is:

- **Faster Unblockings & Richer Idea Flow**

- **Will create a Reciprocal Network**

- **Richer findings mean a richer Ethereum ecosystem, and hopefully richer retroactive rewards for the team**

This is an experiment. There are a lot of things that have not been defined, others will constantly change/evolve, but I will put all my heart into making this a very valuable experience for the whole ARQ cohort.

Check out the full document. I will be posting FAQ, video walkthroughs, and the latest information:

Really interesting forking! Wondering if we could already have try to prototype the ARQ commitment Pool using sarafu.network and a native utility token as i mentioned in this thread. People who participates in the infinite fountain could receive ARQ tokens through a cookie jar and join the commitment pool.

Your initiative could align incentives to ignite reciprocity and rotation, and then, would be nice to have something to already funnel in tour ecosystem, where this primitives could place to be praticed.

Something i think i still need to understand is, how people would select the best idea, do you have a protocol for design thinking or any other type of facilitation? Im wondering if you’re not underestimating the challenge to putting ideas in pratice. Maybe you could give a prompt from this Airtable Allo Prompt Library, or play around with @durgadas frameworks. You could turn in to an exploratory research around a specific or some specific domains and paradoxes.

Thanks Coi ! Let me check into that.

About “how people would select the best idea”, I want to keep it very simple. We will all help an individual researcher each turn, we all submit ideas, the researcher picks the winner (whatever the researcher finds more valuable). I want to gamify and incentivize the collaboration and the mutual-aid. Might try to do some more complex mechanisms later, but will start very simple.

Great idea Coi ! I am a huge fan of @durgadas paradoxes approach, and I am already working on a presentation inspired by it for the contest. Will share very soon !

It’s time for the “runner-up generosity fountain”.

(the app is in very very early alpha, if you find any issues sending tips, please DM me, I have a backup system).

Basically, the “funding readiness team” decided which submission was more valuable for them, and that got the 20 USDC. And all the rest, the runner-ups, received a little reward, just a tiny one, just as a thank you. But this dynamic is to play the generosity card. Please browse all the submissions, find the one you find more valuable, and just send a tip to that person.

The app will automatically split it:
-One part is going to go directly to the submitter,
-Another one is going to go to the retroactive rewards pool.
-Also you will receive tickets for a raffle and I will send some rewards to all the tippers at the end of the adventure. And the tickets will be in your user profile dashboard.

This is a very friendly competition. It’s just to gamify generosity. So I definitely just did some calculations to send the rewards as close as possible between each other. I got help from 6 collaborators and used a formula to normalize the results. And if anyone wants to know a little bit more about the process, just send me a DM and I will share you a video with more information.

And please try to send a tip to someone. This will really mean a lot to the whole game, to the submitters. And I really think this will help us all.

To those who donated last time, you will find your raffle tickets in your profile dashboard. :ballot_box_with_ballot:

NEW CHALLENGE MY FELLOW ARQ ADVENTURERS !!

This time we are going to help @cordurboi on his research journey.

Quick and easy: share your thoughts in under 10 minutes.

The winning submission (selected by Lliam) will instantly receive $20 USDC.
Runner-ups will also receive a small thank-you reward.

Entries close Wednesday (Oct-6) at 11 PM UTC.

gm gm my fellow adventurers !

It is time for the GENEROSITY FOUNTAIN ALL-STARS CHALLENGE !!

Please send some tips to your favorite submissions, but now through a selection of the best submissions across all the challenges:

Liam selected his favorite submission, and all payouts have been sent. You can find the results here:

I also created this “generosity flow chart” so we can all see how we have been supporting each other. For example, in the last donation session (when we sent tips to the Regen Villages submissions), we all gave back 74% of what we received !!

I also sent a small “retro-bonus” to all of you. I grabbed the historic performance of your submissions and sent a total of $55 usdc. Because this is a friendly competition, to make the distribution more even, I minimized the bonus to those who got a $20 usdc reward during the challenges.

I am also working on getting an extra $100 usdc from a new sponsor. Will share as soon as it gets confirmed. But my vision is that every Fountain (incubated project) will also send part of its fund to other fountains (kind of like a “pay-it-forward” kind of deal).

I want the Infinite Fountain to become a tiny venture studio (long term vision, will start very very small).

I want to:

-partner with projects

-invest in them and create “economically sustainable artifacts”.

-rally a small community to co-create with us and share the upside
-look up for grants and sponsors

-gamify collaboration and generosity

-create a rotating mutual aid mechanism with other Fountains

Very grateful to all of you!! Please join the first link to make your donations to your fellow adventurers.
